The gastric bypass diet is what a person follows after they have had weight loss surgery. You will be on the liquid part of the diet from 2 to 8 weeks. This part of the diet is boring, but it is probably the easiest part of the diet. It is when you have to begin to eat normal foods again that you can be faced with a challenge. It is difficult to go from eating more than one plate of food at meal to eating less than a quarter cup of food per meal.
The other part that is a big change that most people are not used to is having to chew extremely thoroughly. Not chewing well can cause extreme pain and possible vomiting. The best thing you can do is take it easy. Use common sense. Start with soft foods and chew well no matter what you are eating. Things will eventually return to normal, but it will take time.
